USGS - NWQL science support mission and vision

The NWQL's primary mission is to support USGS programs requiring environmental analyses by providing consistent methodology for national assessment and trends analysis.

The NWQL’s vision is to be a world-class fee-for-service environmental analysis to support the USGS mission.  

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) gathers data for determining the location, amount, availability, and quality of ground and surface water throughout the United States and its territories. About 75 to 80 percent of the water-quality samples used in this effort are analyzed
