Klamath Marsh January through June maximum surface-water extent

Detailed Description

Color-coded geospatial imagery overlaid on a grey-scale base map of the Klamath Marsh area. The images compare two different years that bracket the extent of the data set, 1985 and 2021. Brown-colored area shows dry land, dark-blue and light-blue areas have open water, dark-green and light-green areas are partial surface water wetlands. In 2021 much more brown, dry land area is visible because the maximum extent of open surface water in the refuge decreased by more than 50 percent. However, surface-water extent fluctuates seasonally.

These images are from a geospatial dataset of January through June maximum surface-water extent derived from Landsat satellite imagery.
