Economic Valuation of Landsat and Landsat Next 2023

The Economic Valuation of Landsat and Landsat Next (2023) provides an updated analysis of the economic benefits of Landsat imagery and projects the additional value expected from the upcoming Landsat Next mission. It quantifies the economic value to direct and indirect users, including cost savings for government agencies and commercial benefits, and estimates the total value of Landsat imagery accessed in 2023 at \$25.63 billion. The report also evaluates the incremental benefits of Landsat Next, projecting a potential increase of 30-35 percent in value due to its enhanced capabilities compared to current Landsat satellites​
