Detailed Description
The hydraulically damped gravity corer was designed at USGS, Woods Hole, to collect sediment cores up to 50 cm long with minimal disturbance of material at the water-sediment interface. Mike Bothner (yellow hard hat) is overseeing deployment in Massachusetts Bay by the able crew from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter White Heath.
