USGS National Map of Surficial Mineralogy: large-area material maps to aid in the identification of mineral groups in exposed materials on the Earth's surface. This is related to USGS Scientific Investigations Map 3190 Description and Validation of an Automated Methodology for Mapping Mineralogy, Vegetation, and Hydrothermal Alteration Type from ASTER Satellite Imagery with Examples from the San Juan Mountains, Colorado. Updated to comply with Executive Order 14172.
