Open House visitors enjoying the display of the Center’s microscopic work to investigate disease at the WFRC Community Mural Painting Event and laboratory tour

Image from community mural painting event at the Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC), July 8 and 9, 2023.  This was a collaborative community painting event, staff painting effort, and pro muralist effort. The mural extends to all the walls of the building and depicts the science the WFRC does in support of recovering, maintaining and sustainably utilizing our fish and their aquatic ecosystems in the Western United States. Young, muralist, Austin Picinich of Austin’s Awesome Art provided the design.  The event included the painting of a storage building and a tour of the WFRC.
