Pat Kikut plays the guitar to an oil pumpjack

Detailed Description

One of the topics we frequently talked about was land use. The Green River in the Uinta is different from other segments because it is surrounded by industrial activity, with scattered farms, livestock, oil pumpjacks. It is not known as a recreational destination, although the beauty is overlooked. Often we crop out human activity in our photos, but here human activity is a dominant feature in the landscape. After dinner, we decided to look more closely at the pumpjacks. Pat Kitut brough his guitar and played to no one inparticular. The pumpjack continues to make it's constant groan, as persistent as the impact of western settlement is here in the Uinta and elsewhere.
