Public meeting about June 27th lava flow in Pāhoa, Hawai‘i

Several HVO scientists participated in a series of public meetings in Pāhoa and nearby communities when the June 27th lava flow, named for the date in 2014 that the flow started, threatened to inundate part of the Puna District, including houses, businesses, roads, and utilities. The meetings were an effective means for HVO scientists to share the latest hazards information about the flow to the public.
