RV Parke Snavely - Santa Cruz waterfront
Detailed Description
R/V Parke Snavely conducting a bathymetric survey near the Santa Cruz waterfront. Following the partial collapse of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf during January 2025 storms, the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center was requested to help map seafloor debris by NOAA’s Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. In response to this request, the USGS conducted a geophysical survey adjacent to the wharf and surrounding waters under California State Lands Permit #8394 in late January 2025.
