Detailed Description
USGS collaborator Scott Saleska (University of Arizona) prepares to climb a 213-foot (65-meter) tower at the Amazon forest study site near Santarém, Brazil. Saleska and other team members installed a remote sensing system near the top of the tower as part of an investigation to improve understanding of how photosynthesis in tropical forests responds to seasonal variations in climate.
