Typical snail kite foraging habitat in Everglades. Far background is typical sawgrass that comprises bulk of Everglades vegetation. Foreground is aquatic slough community, characterized by floating leafed aquatics and sebmerged aquatic plants. Wet prairie community is transitionsal between the tow and is generally sparse emergents with floating leafed aquatics, (species include (spike rushes, panic grasses, and flag species, also water lily).
