Wide-angle view from point of Banana delta to edge of visitor viewing area, taken from a point within viewing area. Prominent cliff is old sea cliff before Wilipe`a delta built out from it in 2002. Lava from current Banana flow covered much of Wilipe`a delta and finally built outward from the older delta, to form a new one. Former seaward margin of Wilipe`a delta has been almost obscured in most places by the younger Banana lava. Black sand beach has been built during past two years of activity at Wilipe`a, Banana, and other lava deltas.
