The anaesthesia of fish by high carbon-dioxide concentrations

A practical and economical method for anaesthetizing adult salmon and steelhead trout in the fish trucks used in the Grand Coulee fish salvage program is described. The method consists in generating a predetermined carbon-dioxide concentration in the 1000-gallon tanks of the trucks through the successive addition of predissolved sodium bicarbonate and dilute sulphuric acid in proper quantities. The Great Lakes fisheries: A review of the report of the International Board of Inquiry for the Great Lakes Fisheries

In August, 1942, the International Board of Inquiry for the Great Lakes Fisheries submitted its report to the governments of the United States and States and Canada. The report, which culminated a two-year investigation, recommended a common or joint agency of control for the fisheries through an international treaty.

The oxidizing power of illinois coal. II. The effects of extended time

The oxidizing power exhibited by five Illinois coals has been shown to reach a maximum value and then decrease, suggesting that this "reactive oxygen" may play the role of an intermediate in the oxidative degradation of these coals.
