The Redlands-Beaumont area is bordered by the Santa Ana River on the north, the San Bernadina River on the northeast, the Yucaipa Hills and the San Gorgonio Pass on the east, and the Badlands and the San Jacinto fault on the south and south-west. Large alluvial fans underlie much of the area, but other landforms include alluvial benches, dissected alluvial hills, plains, terraces, and bedrock hills which locally protrude above the floors of the alluvial valleys.
