Solubility and occurrence of lead in surface water
The article evaluates the solubility of lead in solutions similar to natural river water and compares them with lead concentrations that have been determined in studies of minor-element contents of surface water. From these data the general features of water chemistry, which favor the solution of lead, and their effectiveness can be discerned. Water sources that require the most careful monitoring for possible excessive concentrations of lead are indicated by these results.
