STRATIFIED PRIMITIVE AREA, WYOMING.
A geologic and mineral survey of the Stratified Primitive Area in northwestern Wyoming was completed. The mineral-resource potential was evaluated by geologic and geochemical studies and by examination of mining claims. On the basis of this study, a small area along the northeastern boundary of the area, adjacent to the Kirwin mining district, has probable resource potential for base and precious metals. No potential was identified in the primitive area for nonmetallic minerals, hydrocarbons, or coal.
