Water-resources data for the 1987 water year for Kansas consist of records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; elevation, contents, and water quality of lakes or reservoirs; and water levels and water quality of ground-water wells. This report contains records for water discharge at 140 gaging stations; elevation and contents at 24 lakes or reservoirs; water quality at 31 gaging stations; and water levels at 1,590 observation wells and water quality at 221 wells. Also included are data for 87 high-flow, 10 low-flow, and 1 flood hydrograph partial-record station; and 2 chemical-quality of precipitation stations. Miscellaneous field water-quality data were collected at 101 measured sites, and miscellaneous water-quality data were collected at 14 sampling sites. These data represent that part of the National Water Data System collected by the U.S. Geological Survey and cooperating State and federal agencies in Kansas.
