Cassie (CiCi) Cuevas

CiCi Cuevas is a Supervisory Geographer at the USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

CiCi Cuevas manages the GIS Gulf Coast Team of the Science Applications and Technology Branch. Her career began as an Intelligence Specialist in the Navy with a focus on Imagery Intelligence (IMINT).  She received a Navy Achievement Medal (NAM) for her intelligence and IMINT acumen in Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO) during Operation Iraqi Freedom while onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71. As she moved on to USSOUTHCOM, she received a Joint Service Achievement Medal (JSAM) for meritorious service as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst.  After the military, CiCi worked in intelligence and geospatial roles with USACE and later USASOC, supporting the warfighters.  Prior to coming to USGS, CiCi worked with NASA supporting NASA-wide geospatial applications, as well as NASA-Environmental geospatial analyses. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of geospatial and intelligence concepts within remote sensing, geospatial application development, geospatial data management, as well as intelligence and environmental geospatial analyses.
