Jeff Sanders

Jeff is the U.S. Geological Survey Department of Energy Program Manager for the Nevada Water Science Center. 

Jeff has experience across three large Federal organizations with emphasis in administrative, financial, and quality assurance operations. As the Program Manager, Jeff is responsible for the strategic planning, financial, and administrative operations of the U.S. Geological Survey Department of Energy program. He oversees effectiveness of personnel and program operations, develops life cycle cost analyses of projects, and performs economic evaluations of projects and programs.

Professional Experience

  • 2015-Present: Program Manager, U.S. Geological Survey, Boulder City, Nevada

  • 2014-2015: Deputy Program Manager, U.S. Geological Survey, Henderson, Nevada

    Principle financial advisor on day to day financial operations of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Department of Energy (DOE) program. Researched and investigated new management practices for application to agency programs and operations.

  • 2012-2014: Management & Program Analyst, U.S. Geological Survey, Henderson, Nevada

    Developed life cycle cost analyses of projects and performs economic evaluations of programs. Utilized Primavera and Microsoft Project for program management across 12 diverse cost centers.
     

  • 2009-2012: Revenue Officer, Internal Revenue Service, Las Vegas, Nevada

    Conducted research, interviews, and financial analysis of businesses entities. Expert knowledge of Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Budgeting and Problem Solving. Managed an 85+ inventory of cases; to handle customers, special programs, and tax code enforcement.

  • 2006-2008: Maintenance Unit Administrator, U.S. Air Force, Las Vegas, Nevada

    Orchestrated the training and daily work activities of 204 aircraft maintenance technicians. Managed flying schedule and workorders for 21 aircraft worth $756M. Oversaw a $140K operating budget and multiple high value equipment assets worth over $18M.

  • 2004-2006: Lead Production Superintendent, U.S. Air Force, Las Vegas, Nevada

    Supervised data collection process for the $2.1B F-22A program ensuring validity for the Air Force. Briefed dignitaries and defense agency executives on F-22A “high visibility” program progress.
