Jennifer Marie Olszewski

I am passionate about working towards a sustainable Chesapeake watershed with a flourishing population, economy, and ecosystem. My areas of expertise are hydrologic and water quality modeling, decision-support modeling, data analysis, statistical analysis, collaborative planning, planning under climate change, and project management.

I have supported and led water resources planning efforts around the globe, from the Dominican Republic to the Lower Mekong River basin. I have also co-led efforts in the Okavango Delta and Zambia aimed at planning for and building resilience to climate change. These experiences have taught me that while plenty of engineering and science challenges exist, some of the most difficult challenges are social and political. As an engineer, I see it as my duty to work closely with other scientists, social scientists, communities, decision-makers, etc. to build a shared understanding of problems and to collaboratively find solutions to those problems.
