Occurrence and potential sources of pyrethroid insecticides in stream sediments from seven U.S. metropolitan areas
A nationally consistent approach was used to assess the occurrence and potential sources of pyrethroid insecticides in stream bed sediments from seven metropolitan areas across the United States. Occurrence of pesticides in water and sediment collected from amphibian habitats located throughout the United States, 2009-10

A method for the determination of 14 pyrethroid insecticides in environmental water and sediment samples is described. The method was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey in response to increasing concern over the effects of pyrethroids on aquatic organisms.
