Megan Schmer

Megan Schmer is a Hydrologic Technician with the California Water Science Center, and she is based in San Diego.

Megan's work is centered on groundwater quality, with a primary focus on collecting discrete and produced water samples for the California Oil, Gas, and Groundwater (COGG) Group. She also regularly collects surface water samples for the National Water Quality Network (NWQN). With extensive experience, Megan is skilled in installing, maintaining, and operating real-time telemetered stage/discharge, water-quality, and groundwater sites, including the backend processes necessary for producing and publishing records. Currently, Megan is a member of the Hydrological Technician Advisory Team (HTAT), where she actively advocates for the interests of technicians in California to center leadership. Her expertise includes Data Analysis, Hydrologic Field Methods, Water Quality, Discrete Sampling, Produced Water Sampling, Training, and Leadership.
