Michael C. Kelley

I am the Administrative Officer for the Western Fisheries Research Center.  I work remotely from Whidbey Island, Washington.  I spend my spare time working on my fleet of jalopies, camping, hiking, and exploring with my dog Emmylou Harris.

I am from Houston, Texas where I spent my formative years before joining the US Air Force in the early 1990’s.  In the Air Force, I was a crew chief (aircraft mechanic) on the U-2, and I was stationed in California and South Korea, with deployments to England, France and Sicily.  Upon leaving the Air Force, I went back to school and finished my Bachelor’s degree, and went on to spend 15 years in higher education administration.  My most recent position before coming to Western Fisheries, was as the Assistant District Manager for the High Plains District of the Bureau of Land Management in Casper, Wyoming.
