In order to excel as a scientific organization, it is critical to acknowledge the value of leadership throughout the U.S. Geological Survey and promote acts of outstanding leadership.
This coin has been designed to acknowledge those extraordinary acts of leadership. It is not to be kept to yourself, but to be "passed on" to other deserving individuals who have that leadership fire.
Andre Marcois once said, "The most important quality of a leader is that of being acknowledged as such". The leadership coin acknowledges deserving individuals within the U.S. Geological Survey and helps "keep the leadership fire burning"!
