Effects of the eruptions of Mount St. Helens on physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of surface water, ground water, and precipitation in the Western United States

Over 120 publications that describe the 1980 eruption effects of Mount St. Helens on rivers, lakes, and the Columbia River estuary are reviewed. Ground-water pumpage for 1990 was estimated for an area of about 5,700 square miles in northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington as part of the Puget-Willamette Lowland Regional Aquifer System Analysis study.
