Landsat Science Products

The USGS has developed research-quality, applications-ready Level-2 and Level-3 science products, as well as Analysis Ready Data (ARD) that can be used to monitor, assess, and project how changes in land use, land cover, and land condition affect people and nature.

We welcome your feedback on Landsat data and Landsat Science Products! Please reach out us at landsat@usgs.gov with any questions or comments.

Level-2 Scene-based Science Products

Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 Science Products are time-series observational data of sufficient length, consistency, and continuity to record effects of climate change, and serve as input into Landsat Level-3 Science Products. Landsat Collection 2 Level-1 data are used in the processing of Level-2 science products.

The timeframe for creating Level-2 products varies by satellite. The Landsat Collection 2 Product Generation Timeline displays the time it takes to generate Level-2 products for each sensor.

Landsat Surface Reflectance

Landsat 4-9, Worldwide, 1982-present
Measures the fraction of incoming solar radiation that is reflected from Earth's surface to the Landsat sensor

EarthExplorer

Landsat Surface Temperature

Landsat 4-9, Worldwide, 1982-present
Represents the temperature of the Earth's surface in Kelvin (K)
