DRASTIC and Attenuation Factor Model Results for Upper Floridan Aquifer Vulnerability to Bromacil and Ethylene Dibromide

Attenuation Factor (AF; Rao and others, 1985) and DRASTIC (Aller and others, 1987) models were developed for the Upper Floridan aquifer within the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) boundaries. The models were compared to assess the ability of each of these models to indicate the vulnerability of groundwater resources to contamination by Ethylene Dibromide and Bromacil pesticides

Hawaiian Islands Coastal Vegetation Survey 2013-2015

This dataset provides information on the current status and various other habitat and descriptive attributes of the native coastal vegetation for seven of the main Hawaiian Islands (i.e., does not include Niihau). This study was focused on identifying sites that still retain relatively intact and highly diverse native coastal plant communities throughout seven of the main Hawaiian Islands (Kaua

Golden Eagle Food Habits in the Mojave Desert: Regional information for a changing landscape.

Expansion of renewable energy development is rapidly transforming the Mojave Desert landscape and has the potential to impact Golden Eagles through loss of foraging habitat and reduced prey base. Regional information on Golden Eagle food habits is limited and little is known of how dietary variability influences eagle productivity. We examined diet using motion activated trail cameras and collecti

Data for Gene Transcription Patterns in Response to Low Level Petroleum Contaminants in Mytilus trossulus from Field Sites and Harbors in Southcentral Alaska

Marine mussels are a ubiquitous and crucial component of the nearshore environment, and new genomic technologies exist to quantify molecular responses of individual mussels to stimuli, including exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). We used gene-based assays of exposure and physiological function to assess lingering oil damage from the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill using the Pacific b

Sediment carbon, submerged aquatic vegetation and environmental variables in deltaic southeast Louisiana (2015-2016)

These present data on sediment carbon from soil cores taken from within submerged aquatic vegetation beds from fresh to saline coastal locations in southeast Louisiana. Water quality, site location, vegetation biomass and species composition are recorded.

Roadside Survey Data from southeastern Arizona and New Mexico for Grasshopper Sparrow and other grassland Birds 2003 to 2005

These data include descriptions of all roadside segments surveyed, including GPS waypoints and verbal descriptions for each point (every half mile), survey data collected on roadside surveys in 2003-2005 in the months of July and August, along roads within the known breeding range of the Arizona Grasshopper Sparrow (Ammodramus savannarum ammolegus).

Major, trace, and rare earth element concentration measured in water samples collected during the September 2013 Colorado South Platte River flood

Major flood events have the potential to impact water quality. In this study, the effects of the September 2013 South Platte River flood in Colorado were assessed on the urban water cycle and basin-wide scales using time-series water sampling of three source waters (tap water, wastewater treatment facility effluent, and receiving stream) and a longitudinal sampling of the South Platte River and it

Results of Hydrologic Monitoring on Landslide-prone Coastal Bluffs near Mukilteo, Washington

A hydrologic monitoring network was installed to investigate landslide hazards affecting the railway corridor along the eastern shore of Puget Sound between Seattle and Everett, near Mukilteo, Washington. During the summer of 2015, the U.S. Geological Survey installed instrumentation at four sites to measure rainfall and air temperature every 15 minutes. Two of the four sites are installed on cont

Depth and Velocity Data in the Lower San Joaquin River, California, 2011-2014

This data release contains water depth, depth-averaged water velocity, and river stationing (based on 2012 ortho-imagery) in select locations in the Lower San Joaquin River, California, 2011-2014. Between 2011 and 2014, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), collected approximately 105 channel cross-sections and multiple longitudinal profiles, w

Meteorological Database, Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois, January 1, 1948 - September 30, 2016

This data release is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey - ScienceBase data release by Bera and Over (2016), with the processed data through September 30, 2016. The primary data for each year is downloaded from the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) (http://gonzalo.er.anl.gov/ANLMET/numeric/) and is processed following the guidelines documented in Over and others (2010) and Bera (2014). Sandhill crane phenology at the Platte River, Nebraska, 2001-2007

The central Platte River Valley represents a key mid-latitude stopover. This dataset supports a contemporary analysis of spring migration phenology at the Platte River during 2001-2007. We recorded timing of sandhill crane arrivals and departures from the Platte River.

Digitized oil and gas pads in the Piceance Basin of Western Colorado in 2005 based on a sample from 2015 data

Digitization of a selection of oil and gas well pad sites in the Piceance region of Western Colorado. A random sample of 146 pad locations from the "Digitized Piceance Oil and Gas Pads of Western Colorado, 2015" were used to identify the locations digitized in this dataset. The 146 polygons spatially intersect polygons in the 2015 shape file, but are not completely contained within the 2015 polygo
