Review of articles pertaining to landscape perceptions

This data file contains a list of journal articles found in a recent search for research relevant to studying landscape perceptions. We collected all peer reviewed academic articles containing the keywords landscape and perception on the web of science resulting in 3497 records. To eliminate studies not directly addressing landscape perception we filtered out medical journal articles (n=1211). We

Occurrence of Amphibians in Northern California Coastal Dune Drainages

Many coastal dune ecosystems have been degraded by non-native dune vegetation, but these systems might still provide valuable habitat for some taxa, including amphibians. Because restoration of degraded dune systems is occurring and likely to continue, we examined the occurrence of amphibians in drainages associated with a coastal dune ecosystem degraded by invasive plants (European Beachgrass, Am

Accelerometer scour monitor data on the Cedar River, Washington, 2013 - 2014

Accelerometer scour monitors were deployed on the Cedar River, Washington from 2013 to 2014 as part of a study on the timing of streambed scour at 73 locations in salmon-spawning habitat. This data release contains data of the three-dimensional orientation recorded at 20- to 30-minute intervals for the 46 accelerometer monitors that were recovered in 2014. Each accelerometer scour monitor was comp

Chemical Cues Which Include Amino Acids Mediate Species-Specific Feeding Behavior in Invasive Filter-Feeding Bigheaded Carps-Data

This data was generated from a study in which five experiments were conducted that tested whether and how dissolved chemicals might assist food recognition in two filter-feeding fishes, the silver (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and the bighead carp (H. nobilis). The buccal-pharngeal pumping (BPP), a behavior in which fish pump water into their buccal cavities, was observed in both silver and bighea

Longitudinal profile and off-channel habitats of the lower Cedar River, Washington

Alcoves and side channels along the Cedar River, Washington from Landsburg to Lake Washington mapped on June 11-12, 2013 during a field survey. Data are provided as ESRI ArcMap shapefiles.

Factors related to the sediment balance of 97 streams in the Midwestern US

Physical attributes of 97 streams in the Midwestern US characterizing sediment supply, sediment transport capacity, and stream bed material. Attributes include basin characteristics compiled with geographic information system and statistical summaries of field measurements of channel form, bed material, and suspended sediment. Data were used by Konrad and Gellis, 'Factors influencing fine sediment

Bathymetry, backscatter intensity, and geomorphology of the sea floor of the Hudson Canyon and adjacent slope and rise

A multibeam survey was carried out in 2002 to map the bathymetry and backscatter intensity of the sea floor of the Hudson Canyon and adjacent slope and rise. The Canyon begins on the outer continental shelf off the eastern coast of the United States at about 100-meter (m) water depth and extends offshore southeastward across the continental slope and rise. The survey covered an area approximately

Digital 3-D Geologic Framework data for the Rio Grande Transboundary region of New Mexico, Texas, USA and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico

This digital dataset of a three-dimensional hydrogeologic framework for the Rio Grande Transboundary region of New Mexico, Texas, USA and Northern Chihuahua, Mexico defines the geometry, extent, and character of aquifers of the region and is intended as the digital hydrogeologic input data for numerical simulation of the groundwater system. The data consist of a single GeoDatabase (RGTIHM_3DHFM

Water level measurements collected in West Falmouth Harbor, MA, 2016: U.S. Geological Survey data release

Water-level gauges were deployed at two sites in West Falmouth Harbor between May and October 2016. Two sequential deployments were required to provide measurements for the entire period. One gauge was mounted under the town-owned West Falmouth boat dock and the other on the private Associates dock near the mouth of the Harbor. Each gauge supported two pressure sensors mounted in a stilling we

GIS data and tables associated with irrigated agricultural land use survey in Polk County, FL

A detailed inventory of the current irrigated crop acreage is now available to accurately estimate agricultural water use and future water demands in Polk County, Florida. A detailed digital map and summary of irrigated acreage was developed in an effort to improve the accuracy of crop acreage, type, and location for the 2016 growing season. The irrigated areas were delineated using land-use data

Results of Hydrologic Monitoring of a Landslide-Prone Hillslope in Portland's West Hills, Oregon, 2006-2017

The West Hills of Portland, in the southern Tualatin Mountains, trend northwest along the west side of Portland, Oregon. These silt-mantled mountains receive significant wet-season precipitation and are prone to sliding during wet conditions, occasionally resulting in significant property damage or casualties. In an effort to develop a baseline for interpretive analysis of the groundwater response

Common Eider Blood Chemistry Data, Alaska, 2005

This data contains information on the hematological and biochemical response variables of captive Pacific Common Eiders (Somateria mollissima v-nigrum) implanted with abdominal satellite transmitters with percutaneous antennas.
