Climate and drought adaptation: historical and projected future exposure metrics for Southeastern Utah Group National Parks

These data were compiled to evaluate the magnitude and direction of change from historical conditions in climate metrics across the Southeastern Utah Group (SEUG) of National Parks. Objective(s) of our study were to quantify the magnitude and direction of change from historical conditions in climate metrics across SEUG parks at a meaningful scale for land managers and practitioners. These data rep

Suspended-sediment, bedload, bed-sediment, and multibeam sonar data in the Chippewa River, WI

These data were compiled for analyses of sediment transport within the Chippewa River, WI. Objective(s) of our study were to determine sand loads contributed by the Chippewa River to the Mississippi River. These data include physical suspended-sediment samples, acoustical suspended-sediment measurements, acoustical suspended-sediment loads, quasi-continuous measurements of bed-elevation, multibeam

Water Quality and Bed-sediment Quality from Mountain Creek Lake and two stream sites near Grand Prairie, Texas, 2019

Mountain Creek Lake is a reservoir in north Texas 8 miles southwest of Dallas, Texas where historical contamination by polychlorinated biphenyl compounds (PCBs) and other organic contaminants has been reported. There was a need to reassess concentrations of contaminates of organic and inorganic compounds in the reservoir. In cooperation with the City of Dallas, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) sa

Precipitation, suspended-sediment, and water-quality data collected at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Carson and Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site, Colorado, during water years 2016-18

Precipitation, suspended-sediment, and water-quality data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the U.S. Army on two bases in Colorado, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Carson and Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site, during water years 2016–18. Data were collected to assist in understanding the potential effects of military training maneuvers on water resources and water quality fo

Assessment of Field and Laboratory Methods for the Detection and Analyses of Cyanobacteria and Cyanotoxins in Texas Reservoirs, 2020

In cooperation with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) used various field and laboratory methods to determine the presence and concentration of cyanobacteria, cyanotoxins, and taste-and-odor compounds in selected Texas water bodies. This data release documents the results from water-quality samples collected from 12 water bodies in Texas during

RTK GPS survey data in 1002 area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

The RTK survey, using a Trimble unit, was conducted in August 2021 in the coastal plains region (1002 area) of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, as part of a landscape vulnerability assessment. A total of six transects are included in the data, including five research sites and one transect collected at the camp site. Mean horizontal precision was 0.006m, mean vertical precision was 0.011m.

Digital datasets for the hydrogeology of aquifers within the Fairport-Lyons Channel System and adjacent areas in Wayne, Ontario, and Seneca Counties, New York

A study was conducted to provide detailed mapping of glacial aquifers associated with the Fairport-Lyons channel system in Wayne, Ontario, and Seneca Counties, New York. The study was part of the cooperative Detailed Aquifer Mapping Program between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). The objective of the study was to character

Enhanced Terrain Imagery of the Wilmington 30 x 60 Minute Quadrangle from Lidar-Derived Elevation Models at 3-Meter Resolution

This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Wilmington 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. It also covers part of the Delaware River Basin. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter and 3-meter resolution Lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compil

Model of potential multiphase methane evolution in the subsurface of Southern Ontario across a wide range of initial gas contents

Numerical modeling was performed to analyze the impacts of potential multiphase conditions on long-term subsurface pressure evolution in subsurface systems. An example site on the Bruce Peninsula in Southern Ontario, Canada was selected due to the large amount of available, high-quality data showing significantly underpressured water and the possible presence of gas phase methane. The system was r

Database for the Geologic Map of the South Boston 30' x 60' Quadrangle, Virginia and North Carolina

The 1:100,000-scale geologic map database of the South Boston 30' x 60' quadrangle, Virginia and North Carolina, provides geologic information for the Piedmont along the I-85 and U.S. Route 58 corridors and in the Roanoke River watershed, which includes the John H. Kerr Reservoir and Lake Gaston. The Raleigh terrane (located on the eastern side of the map) contains Neoproterozoic to early Paleozoi

Concentrations of Perfluoroalkyl Substances in the Eggs of Brown Pelicans from Charleston, SC (2019)

This dataset contains concentrations of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) measured in the eggs of brown pelicans nesting near Charleston, SC, USA, as well as movements of brown pelicans tracked with GPS-Platform Terminal transmitters. In total, 36 eggs were measured from three breeding colonies of brown pelicans for the presence of 24 PFAS analytes using LC-MS/MS. Concentrations were then analyzed

Basin Characteristics Rasters for Delaware StreamStats 2020

This dataset was produced in by the Delaware Geological survey in cooperation with the US Geological Survey and Delaware Department of Transportation for the purpose of calculating stream gage basin characteristics in preparation for the Delaware 2020 StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of various environmental, geological, and land use attributes within the Delaware
