In-stream water-quality estimation: Case studies in real-time stream and lake monitoring in the central USA
Five U.S. Geological Survey case studies in real-time stream and lake monitoring are presented. The emphases of the case studies are in-stream biological characteristics, fecal coliform bacteria, atrazine, phosphorus, and taste-and-odor compounds.

An analytical model to predict dune and cliff notching due to wave impact
A model was developed to calculate the evolution of a notch in a dune or cliff due to wave impact. Analytical solutions were derived to the model for schematized conditions regarding forcing and dune/cliff properties. Host specificity and ecology of infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) in Pacific salmonids
Some circumstances IHNV infection can cause acute disease with mortality ranging from 5-90% in host populations.
