Scientists at CRRL have pioneered the development and application of various telemetry and tagging technologies for the tracking of fish movements e.g., PIT tags, radio and acoustic telemetry, DIDSON cameras. One year, 40,000 fish were tagged in the Columbia River. During a project on the Colorado River large transponders were fabricated and then airlifted into the deployment site by helicopter.
