Figure 2.  Gross lesions observed on fish collected from the Chesapeake Bay watershed prior to and during fish kills: (A) Raised mucoid areas found to be papillomas; (B) small raised, reddened areas; (C) large red, raised lesions; (D) erosions with pale necrotic tissue; (E) erosions of skin and muscle; and (F) pale areas covered with fungal hyphae (modified from Blazer and others, 2010).
