Evaluation of the ground-water resources of coastal Georgia; preliminary report on the data available as of July 1983

A compilation of ground-water data that have been collected for nearly 100 years in the coastal area of Georgia as part of cooperative activities between the U.S. Geological Survey and other agencies is presented in this report. The compilation of pertinent data indicates that information is available for use in the evaluation of the ground-water resources of the 13 counties of coastal Georgia. In

Ground-water levels in the carbonate rocks of central Chester County, Pennsylvania, May 18 to June 15, 1984

A water-table contour map of the carbonate rocks of central Chester Valley in Chester County, Pennsylvania was constructed based on water levels measured in 104 wells in May and June 1984 , the altitude of 10 springs, and the level reported in 16 wells and one active quarry. The area of carbonate rock underlies parts of East Whiteland, West Whiteland, East Caln, and Caln Townships, the Borough of

Preliminary map showing the potentiometric surface of the Aquia Aquifer in southern Maryland, September 1982

A map was prepared that shows the potentiometric surface of the Aquia aquifer in southern Maryland in September 1982. The map is based on measurements from a network of 78 observation wells. The highest measured level of the potentiometric surface, 34 ft above sea level, was near the outcrop of the aquifer in a topographically high area of Anne Arundel County. The potentiometric surface slopes dow

Percentage change in saturated thickness of the High Plains Aquifer, west-central Kansas, 1950 to average 1982-84

Continuing studies are being made in west-central Kansas to provide up-to-date information to aid in the management of ground water for irrigation.  This report, prepared in cooperation with the Western Kansas Groundwater Management District No. 1, presents the fourth in a series of studies that uses a statistical technique, called kriging, to produce hydrologic maps that are used as management to
