Geologic map of the Myrtle Point area, Coos County, Oregon
The mapped area lies in theo southern end of the Coos Bay coal field. Coal occurs onle in the upper and lower members of the Coaledo Formation. Nearly all the coal mined in the Coos Bay coal field was from the upper member of the Coaledo Formation.
