Recent trends in the west Greenland salmon fishery, and implications for Thick-billed Murres
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a high net-mortality of seabirds, particularly Thick-billed Murres (Uria lomvia), was associated with the west Greenland salmon fishery. Since 1972, the domestic fishery has been controlled by quotas and fishery opening dates and non-Greenlandic offshore drift-net fishery was phased out in 1975. These restrictions probably resulted in a substantial decrease in mu

Continuous subaqueous deposition of the Permian Castile evaporites, Delaware Basin, Texas and New Mexico
Structures that are common in the Castile Formation (Ochoan) of the Delaware Basin, Texas and New Mexico (Fig. 1) include fine planar laminations, breccias, microfolded laminae, and nodular anhydrite. These structures, particularly the laminae, have been used to demonstrate the subaqueous depositional history of the Castile (Anderson and Kirkland, 1966; Anderson et al., 1972; Dean et al., 1975; De

Spurs and grooves revisited: construction versus erosion, Looe Key Reef, Florida
Six of 12 core holes drilled at Looe Key Reef (24°37'18"N. 81°24'24"W) by a diver-operated coring device penetrated a spur and groove system. Drilling indicated that: (II the spurs and grooves formed over at least 5 m of carbonate reef sand: (2) the underlying Pleistocene surface is essentially flat and therefore could not control or initiate spacing of spurs or grooves; (3) only the thin seaward
