Significance of Mesozoic radiolarians from the pre-Nevadan rocks of the southern Klamath Mountains, California

Ribbon cherts and siliceous tuffs of the North Fork and Rattlesnake Creek terranes of the Klamath Mountains yield Mesozoic radiolarians. Black monazite from Taiwan

Two forms of detrital monazite are known in offshore bars in southwestern Taiwan: a yellow-green to colorless form and an unusual but abundant pelletlike form, generally black but also colored gray or brown. The landslide hazard in the San Francisco Bay region

Development in hilly or mountainous terrain has resulted in much landslide damage. Areas susceptible to landsliding can be recognized. Practices for minimizing landslides are presented.
