The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Nevada Water Science Center (NVWSC) office in Boulder City, Nevada, provides hydrologic, geologic, and other scientific and technical expertise to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to address environmental and scientific issues at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) and vicinity.

The USGS participates in program efforts to acquire hydrologic information at the NNSS and surrounding area. Data are collected from monitoring sites on and adjacent to the NNSS by the USGS and other cooperating agencies in support of various DOE programs, such as the Defense Program, Environmental Management/Underground Test Area, Southern Amargosa Desert, and Yucca Mountain Program. Depth to water, groundwater withdrawal, and water temperature data for active and inactive sites that are or were a part of these various DOE programs are available from this web application tool.
