Acoustic Doppler current profiler velocity and discharge measurements collected in and near the lock chamber of Brandon Road Lock and Dam, Joliet, Illinois, USA in December 2014

Water velocities and discharge were measured in the lock chamber and immediately downstream of Brandon Road Lock on the Des Plaines River at river mile 286 on December 9-10, 2014 using Teledyne RDI Rio Grande 600 and 1200 kHz acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP). The data were georeferenced with a differential GPS receiver with submeter accuracy. These ADCP measurements were collected in supp

Bathymetric and Velocimetric Surveys at Highway Bridges Crossing the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers near St. Louis, Missouri, May 2327, 2016

These data are high-resolution bathymetry (riverbed elevation) and depth-averaged velocities in ASCII format, generated from hydrographic and velocimetric surveys near highway bridge structures over the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers near St. Louis, Missouri, for dates ranging from 2008 to 2016. Hydrographic data were collected using a high-resolution multibeam echosounder mapping system (MBMS),

Velocity profiling at the US Army Corps of Engineers Electric Dispersal Barrier in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal during passage of fully loaded commercial tows

In 2016, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers undertook a large-scale interagency field study to determine the influence of commercial barge vessels on the efficacy of the Electric Dispersal Barrier System (EDBS) in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal (CSSC) in preventing fish passage. This study included a series of trials in which a tow, co

Tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene, and 1,1,2-Trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane concentrations in tree-core, groundwater, and soil samples at the Vienna Wells Site: Maries County, Missouri, 2011-2016

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release contains tree-core, groundwater, and soil data collected at the Vienna Wells Superfund site in Vienna, Missouri by the U.S. Geological Survey between 2011 and 2016. Concentrations of tetrachloroethylene (PCE), trichloroethylene (TCE), and 1,1,2-Trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane (CFC-113) are reported for each location or sample in each medium. Tree-cor

Meteorological Database, Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois, January 1, 1948 - September 30, 2016

This data release is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey - ScienceBase data release by Bera and Over (2016), with the processed data through September 30, 2016. The primary data for each year is downloaded from the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) (http://gonzalo.er.anl.gov/ANLMET/numeric/) and is processed following the guidelines documented in Over and others (2010) and Bera (2014). Bathymetric survey of Rock Run Rookery Lake, Will County, Illinois

The bathymetric data set was collected in Rock Run on Dec. 10, 2015 by USGS ILWSC staff Clayton Bosch and Louis Pappas. The bathymetric data were collected with an RD Instruments 1200 kHz ADCP (S/N 8617) and Trimble Ag 162 GPS mounted on the M/V La Moine. A temporary reference point (TRP) was established on the north side of the footbridge over the connecting channel to the Des Plaines River. The

Seismic water gun data collected at Brandon Road Lock and Dam near Joliet and in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal near Lemont, Illinois

Water pressure, ground velocity and ground acceleration data were collected May 19-22, 2014 at Brandon Road Lock and Dam near Joliet, Illinois and also June 2-5, 2014 in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal near Lemont, Illinois. The data were collected to measure water pressures and ground velocities produced from the firing of a seismic water gun.

Bathymetric survey of the Brandon Road Dam Spillway, Joliet, Illinois

Bathymetric survey data of the Brandon Road Dam spillway was collected on May 27 and May 28, 2015 by the US Geological Survey (USGS) using Trimble Real-Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (RTK-GPS) equipment. The base station was set up over a temporarily installed survey pin on both days. This pin was surveyed into existing NGS benchmarks within the Brandon Road Lock property. In wadeable se
