Ground-water-quality-monitoring program in Iowa: Nitrate and pesticides in shallow aquifers

Concern exists about the occurrence of agricultural chemicals, primarily nitrate and pesticides, in shallow ground water. In response to this concern, the focus of the Iowa ground-water-quality-monitoring program has shifted to emphasize nonpoint contaminants. A strategy for collecting ground-water data and developing a ground-water model of the Missouri River alluvial aquifer, Woodbury and Monona Counties, Iowa
