Comparison of mercury concentrations in liver, muscle, whole bodies, and composites of fish from the Red River of the North

Carp (Cyprinus carpio) from four sites and channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) from one site in the Red River of the North in 1994 were analyzed for total mercury content. Dimethylsulfoniopropionate as a potential methanogenic substrate in Mono Lake sediments

A high concentration of dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) was found in the water column (0.1–1.8 µM particulate plus dissolved) of Mono Lake, CA, an alkaline, hypersaline waterbody.
