Archive of Sediment Physical Properties and Grain-Size Data for Sediment Samples Collected Offshore of Assateague Island, Maryland and Virginia

This data release serves as an archive of sediment physical properties and grain-size data for surficial samples collected offshore of Assateague Island, Maryland and Virginia, for comparison with surficial estuarine and subaerial sedimentological samples collected and assessed following Hurricane Sandy (Ellis and others, 2015; Smith and others, 2015; Bernier and others, 2016). The sediment sample

Buffalo National River Floating Conditions - Arkansas

This interactive map will show real time current floating conditions for the Buffalo National River in Arkansas. You can also see information on camping, picnic areas, boat launch sites, trails and concessionaires.

Bathymetric dataset for Castle Lake, Mount St. Helens, Washington, from survey on August 1-3, 2012

The May 18, 1980, eruption of Mount St. Helens produced a 2.5-cubic kilometer debris avalanche that dammed South Fork Castle Creek, causing Castle Lake to form behind a 20-meter-tall blockage. Risk of a catastrophic breach of the newly impounded lake drove aggressive monitoring programs, mapping efforts, and blockage stability studies. Despite relatively large uncertainty, early mapping efforts ad

Long Island Depth to Water Viewer 2013

USGS collects groundwater data at varying measurement frequencies to monitor the hydrologic conditions on Long Island, New York. Each year during April and May, the USGS conducts a synoptic survey of water levels to define the spatial distribution of the water table and potentiometric surfaces within the three main water-bearing units underlying Long Island.

USGS Flood Event Viewer - Sandy

The USGS Flood Event Viewer helps USGS and its partners to track of the storm and its impact on surface water levels. A storm track field is included from NOAA's National Hurricane Center, and real-time USGS streamgage data and Rapid Deployment Gage data are linked through this map-based product.

Long Island Depth to Water Viewer 2010

USGS collects groundwater data at varying measurement frequencies to monitor the hydrologic conditions on Long Island, New York. Each year during April and May, the USGS conducts a synoptic survey of water levels to define the spatial distribution of the water table and potentiometric surfaces within the three main water-bearing units underlying Long Island.

Data for Turbidity, Discharge, and Suspended-Sediment Concentrations and Loads, Duwamish River, Tukwila, Washington

This data release includes turbidity, discharge, suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) and particle-size data that were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) between February 2013 and January 2017 at the Duwamish River, Washington, within the tidal influence at river kilometer 16.7 (USGS site 12113390; Duwamish River at Golf Course at Tukwila, WA).

Enteroctopus Genetic Data Evaluating DNA Sampling Technique Effects on Data Integrity

These are genetic data collected from Enteroctopus (n = 21; E. dofleini or a cryptic lineage) to evaluate DNA yields obtained via invasive or destructive sampling (muscle/arm tips) versus non-invasive sampling (epithelial swabs) and effects on data reliability as well as to assess the accuracy of using two microsatellite markers as a rapid screen to identify the two Enteroctopus lineages. Paired s

DNA Microsatellite and Sex Identification Markers for Emperor Goose (Chen canagica) and Cross-Species Amplification of Microsatellites in Select Goose Species, Alaska 2016

This data set contains allele sizes for 30 individuals of 9 previously published and 20 novel microsatellite loci and the molecular sex verification (n = 31) of Emperor Geese (Chen canagica) from various locations across Alaska. The allele sizes for the 20 microsatellite loci developed in this study are included for 10 White-fronted Geese (Anser albifrons) from Selawik, 11 Black Brant (Branta bern
