Inputs and Selected Predictions of the CBTN_v5 and CBTP_v5 SPARROW Models for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

The CBTN_v5 and CBTP_v5 SPARROW models were developed to support inferences about causes of observed changes in nitrogen and phosphorus (respectively) fluxes in Chesapeake Bay tributaries between 1992 and 2012. Model inputs and outputs are included in three files, which are described below. Detailed documentation of the SPARROW modeling technique is available at https://pubs.er.usgs.gov/publicatio

Federal Lands Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sequestration in the United States: Estimates 2005-14 - Data Release

This dataset includes ten years of emissions and sequestration estimates (2005-2014) in two separate tables, 1) the combustion and extraction of fossil fuels on Federal lands and 2) processes from the ecosystems on those Federal lands. The fossil fuel related estimates include the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O), and the ecosystems estimates include on

Structure-from-Motion (SfM) surface models derived from seafloor video from the Channel Islands, California

Structure-from-Motion (SfM) surface models were created using seafloor video collected over a visible fault scarp in the Channel Islands, California, during a 2016 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) field activity. Four SfM surface models were created, each with a different combination of locating, scaling, and optimizing methods. Video imagery was collected using the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Sc

Annual winter elk movements in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem 2001-2015

521 unique elk with GPS collars were tracked using telemetry from 2001 to 2015 in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to determine winter-to-winter annual dispersal distance of each individual. All elk were identified and located using telemetry during the months of January and February for two successive years. An individual elk was included at most three times in the data and each year was conside

Highway-Runoff Database (HRDB) Version 1.0.0b

The Highway-Runoff Database (HRDB) was developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to provide planning-level information for decision makers, planners, and highway engineers to assess and mitigate possible adverse effects of highway runoff on the Nation's receiving waters. The HRDB was assembled by using a Microsoft Access database

Tag retention and survival of juvenile bighead carp implanted with an acoustic tag at three temperatures

Bighead carp Hypophthalmichthys nobilis and silver carp H. molitrix (together, the bigheaded carps) are considered among the most problematic of invasive fishes in North. Movement and behavior of bigheaded carps has been studied through telemetry methods although the majority of work has occurred on large, adult fish; smaller, juvenile bigheaded carps have not yet been evaluated. Reductions in t

Coastal Bathymetry Data Collected in 2016 from the Chandeleur Islands, Louisiana

The U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS SPCMSC), collected single-beam and swath bathymetry data at the Chandeleur Islands, Louisiana in June of 2016. This USGS data release includes the resulting processed elevation point data (xyz) and an interpolated digital elevation model (DEM). For further information regarding data collection and/or processing pleas

Monitoring Data for Willow Creek Lake, Nebraska, 2012-14

Monitoring data were collected from the Willow Creek drainage basin and Willow Creek Lake with a focus on 2012-14. Included are datasets of meteorology; lake measurements of water levels, sediment nutrients, and physical, chemical, and biological data; streamflow and stream chemistry; and calculated nutrient loads to the lake.

Topographic Survey and Streambed-Sediment Data of Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the Confluence of Fountain Creek at the Arkansas River, Colorado, 2018

In 2012, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities selected 10 study reaches along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs, Colorado and the confluence of Fountain Creek with the Arkansas River for annual bed and bank characterization and topographic surveys. The 10 study reaches are approximately 5 to 20 bank-full channel widths in length. Data were collecte

Three Streamflow Measurements from the Mississippi River near Clinton, IA, Hickman, KY, and Vicksburg, MS made with an ADCP

Three streamflow measurements are used to demonstrate the use of equations developed in Mueller (in review). All three measurements are from various locations on the Mississippi River. These data were not collected for the purpose of this paper but provide practical examples of the effect of heading errors. The use of data from the Mississippi River allows the collection of 500 or more ensembles i

Qualitative and quantitative surveys of native freshwater mussels in the upper and middle Delaware River (2000-2002)

Data is included for two types of field surveys conducted for freshwater mussels in the mainstem of the middle and upper Delaware River in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States from 2000-2002. Timed search (qualitative) surveys were conducted during 2000-2001 from a point at the confluence of the East and West Branches of the Delaware River near Hancock, NY continuously downstream to a poin

Susquehanna River Basin freshwater mussel surveys: 2008-2015

Data are included for two types of field surveys conducted for freshwater mussels throughout the Susquehanna River Basin (and one site in the Potomac River Basin) in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States from 2008-2010. Timed search (qualitative) surveys were conducted in consecutive ~200 meter sections of river (at least 8 in each stream). The number of mussels of each species and associat
