USGS National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project—Offshore Morocco: Assessment Unit Boundaries, Assessment Input Data, and Fact Sheet Data Tables

This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units, assessment input data, and resulting fact sheet data tables for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in the offshore salt basin area, Essaouira Province of Morocco. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas re

Supporting Data and Models for Characterizing the February 2023 Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, Earthquake Sequence

This data release pertains to the February 2023 Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye earthquake sequence and complements the following publication: Goldberg, D.E. et al. (2023) Rapid Characterization of the February 2023 Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, Earthquake Sequence, The Seismic Record. (xx), 1, doi: 10.1785/0320230009. Hepatic gene expression transcript counts in liver samples of American kestrels

A number of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) have been reported to interfere with the thyroid signaling pathway and cause oxidative stress in birds, yet the underlying shifts in gene expression associated with these effects remain poorly understood. In this study, we measured hepatic transcriptional responses of 31 genes in American kestrel hatchlings following in ovo exposure to one of three hi

Historical genetic resources for Northwestern Atlantic and Caribbean populations of Roseate Tern Sterna dougallii, 1879-1940

Here we provide public access to UCE DNA sequences for all genetic samples in Byerly et al. 2022.

Droplet digital PCR data for the detection of Smoky Mountain Madtoms in Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Environmental DNA water samples were collected at multiple sites in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2016 and 2017 and analyzed with a droplet digital PCR assay to screen for the presence of smoky mountain madtoms. Smoky Mountain madtoms were detected within a section of Abrams Creek, known as the only stream in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that supports this species.

Native riverine fish occurrences downstream from two hydropower dams with contrasting operations, Georgia, USA

Data are fish species occurrences in surveys made by backpack electrofishing and seining in shoal habitats in the Etowah River downstream from Allatoona Dam (n=10 surveys in 2010 and n=5 surveys in 2016; 20 taxa total) and in the Coosawattee River downstream from Carters Dam and re-regulation dam (n=11 surveys in 2010; 32 taxa total), Georgia, USA. Data for the Etowah River include counts of indiv

Groundwater-Level Elevations and Concentrations of Selected Water-Quality Properties at the Many Diversified Interests, Inc. Superfund Site, Houston, Texas, September 2022

In September 2022, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, collected groundwater-level elevation data and water-quality samples from monitoring wells at the Many Diversified Interests, Inc. Superfund Site in Houston, Texas to evaluate the status of groundwater contamination at this previously remediated site. The dataset includes groundwater-level

MODFLOW-One-Water model used to support the Central Platte Natural Resources District Groundwater Management Plan

An integrated hydrologic-flow model, called the Central Platte Integrated Hydrologic Model, was constructed using the MODFLOW-One-Water Hydrologic Model code with the Newton solver. This code integrates climate, landscape, surface water, and groundwater-flow processes in a fully coupled approach. This study provided the Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) with an advanced numerical m

Topographic and bathymetric data, structure from motion imagery, and ground control data collected at Marconi Beach, Wellfleet, Massachusetts in March 2023, U.S. Geological Survey Field Activity 2023-012-FA

The data in this release re-map the beach and nearshore environment at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet, MA and provide updated environmental context for the 2021 CoastCam installation that looks out at the coast shared by beachgoers, shorebirds, seals, and sharks. This is related to the field activity 2022-014-FA and a collaboration with the National Park Service at Cape Cod National Seashore to monito

Topographic and bathymetric data, structure from motion imagery, and ground control data collected at Head of the Meadow Beach, Truro, Massachusetts in March and April 2023, U.S. Geological Survey Field Activity 2023-011-FA

The data in this release re-map the beach and nearshore environment at Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro, MA and provide updated environmental context for the 2020 CoastCam installation that looks out at the coast shared by beachgoers, shorebirds, seals, and sharks. This is related to the field activity 2022-015-FA and a collaboration with the National Park Service at Cape Cod National Seashore to

Groundwater elevation data and models in and around select California oil fields (ver. 2.0, May 2024)

This data release contains groundwater elevation data and the associated model/code used to create groundwater elevation surfaces in and around select oil fields in California. The data and model provided here are intended to supplement interpretative manuscripts. Specific study areas will be added as Child Items found in this data release. Groundwater elevations are usually collected from individ

PHREEQC files for geochemical simulations in Horn Creek, Grand Canyon, AZ

PHREEQC files included in this ScienceBase product include the input (.pqi) and output (.pqo) files formatted for use in PHREEQC and as basic text files, and the information regarding samples used in the simulations. The files were used to interpret changes in water quality between 2018 and 2022 within the Horn Creek watershed of Grand Canyon for the associated publication (add citation here when
