Estimation of rates of aerobic hydrocarbon biodegradation by simulation of gas transport in the unsaturated zone

The distribution of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases in the unsaturated zone provides a geochemical signature of aerobic hydrocarbon degradation at petroleum product spill sites.
