Ground-water level data for North Carolina, 1987

Continuous and periodic measurements in 54 key wells and water-level measurements emplaced in Coastal Plain aquifers across North Carolina in 193 supplemental wells are presented in this report. Hydrographs of selected wells show changes in ground-water storage in the State. The water table in the shallow aquifers was higher throughout most of the State in 1987 than in 1986, indicating that rain h

Hydrologic data for the Big Spring basin, Clayton County, Iowa, water year 1988

Hydrologic data was collected during the 1988 water year in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Geological Survey Bureau in the Big Spring ground-water basin located in Clayton County, Iowa. Information on precipitation, streams, and ground water was collected in the basin. Total rainfall at Big Spring was 24.08 inches. The greatest monthly rainfall was in September. Calcium

Water resources data Iowa, water year 1988

Water resources data for the 1988 water year for Iowa consist of records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; stage, contents, and water quality of lakes and reservoirs; ground water levels and water quality of ground-water wells. This report contains records of water discharge for 117 stream-gaging stations; stage or contents for 7 lakes and reservoirs; water quality for 9 stream-ga

Potentiometric surface of the Peedee aquifer in the central coastal plain of North Carolina, December 1986

Water level measurements were made in 37 wells open to the Peedee aquifer at the end of 1986 to determine the configuration of its potentiometric surface over an area of about 4,100 square miles in the central Coastal Plain of North Carolina. The potentiometric surface of the Peedee slopes southeastward from an altitude of more than 100 ft above sea level along the western limits of the aquifer to

Potentiometric surface of the upper Cape Fear aquifer in the central coastal plain of North Carolina, December 1986

Water-level measurements were made in 84 wells open to the upper Cape Fear aquifer at the end of 1986 to determine the configuration of its potentiometric surface over an area of approximately 5,500 sq mi. The major feature of the potentiometric surface is the development of a large, almost circular cone of depression as a result of the merging of a number of smaller cones. The center of the large

Potentiometric surface of the lower Cape Fear aquifer in the central coastal plain of North Carolina, December 1986

Water level measurements were made in four wells open to the lower Cape Fear aquifer at the end of 1986 to determine the configuration of its potentiometric surface over an area of approximately 4,100 sq mi. Because of the scarcity of data, five earlier measurements were also used to help estimate the position of the potentiometric contours. These were one-time measurements in temporary observatio
