Characteristics and pathogenicity of a capsulated Pseudomonas isolated from goldfish
Characteristics of a capsulated bacterium isolated from an epizootic among goldfish (Carassius auratus) were determined as well as the ability of the bacterium to produce experimental infections. The bacterium was found to be a gram-negative rod which oxidized carbohydrates, produced green fluorescent pigment, and otherwise seemed to fit into the genus Pseudomonas, except that it was nonmotile and

An automatic camera device for measuring waterfowl use
A Yashica Sequelle camera was modified and equipped with a timing device so that it would take pictures automatically at 15-minute intervals. Several of these cameras were used to photograph randomly selected quadrats located in different marsh habitats. The number of birds photographed in the different areas was used as an index of waterfowl use.

Age, growth, maturity, and fecundity of 'humper' lake trout, Isle Royale, Lake Superior
Humper lake trout are one of the several races or subpopulations of lake trout in Lake Superior. This study is based on 3,705 fish collected on a reef south of Isle Royale near the eastern end. The mean lengths of humper trout from commercial gill nets were smaller than those of lean lake trout. Members of age-groups VII, VIII, and IX represented 81.5 per cent of the commercial humper catch. The b
