Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Pre- and post-event digital elevation models generated from high-resolution stereo satellite imagery of the 2016 Lamplugh rock avalanche in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Alaska

The use of high-resolution remotely sensed imagery can be an effective way to obtain quantitative measurements of rock-avalanche volumes and geometries in remote glaciated areas, both of which are important for an improved understanding of rock-avalanche characteristics and processes. We utilized the availability of high-resolution (~0.5 m) WorldView satellite stereo imagery to derive digital elev

Shallow ATRIS (sATRIS) Images-Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida, 2011

Underwater digital images, single-beam bathymetry, and global positioning system (GPS) data were collected July 13 to July 17, 2011 within Dry Tortugas National Park, FL, USA. A total of 272,828 images of the seafloor and water column were collected along pre-defined transect lines and organized into 14 sets: track1, track2, track3, track4, track5, track6, track7, track8, track9, track10, track1

Sperm quality biomarkers complement reproductive and endocrine parameters in investigating environmental contaminants in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) from the Lake Mead National Recreation Area (1999-2006)

Lake Mead National Recreational Area (LMNRA) serves as critical habitat for several federally listed species and supplies water for municipal, domestic, and agricultural use in the Southwestern U.S. Contaminant sources and concentrations vary among sub-basins within LMNRA. To investigate whether environmental contaminant exposure is associated with alterations in male common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Cottonwood Lake Study Area - Invertebrate Weights

This dataset contains aquatic macro-invertebrate sampling data (weights) for wetlands in the Cottonwood Lake Study Area, Stutsman County, North Dakota. This dataset is part of the Missouri Coteau Wetland Ecosystem Observatory database that is a collection of abiotic and biotic data documenting biotic and abiotic responses to long-term climate and land-use change in the Prairie Pothole Region (PPR)

14.86 km Profiles of the Electric and Self-potential Fields Measured in the Lower Guadalupe River Channel, Texas Interior Gulf Coastal Plain, September 2016

This data release consists of three geophysical data sets measured in the lower Guadalupe River channel, south-central Texas, and one supplementary geophysical data set measured in a laboratory. The lower Guadalupe River is incised into the outcrop of the Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer in south-central Texas. The river and the aquifer are hydraulically connected across the outcrop, although the connectivi

Sandhill crane locations, autumn 2013 migration

Sandhill cranes are a long-lived bird species found in wetland-rich landscapes across North America. This dataset includes locations of 5 cranes during a single autumn migration from their breeding areas in northeastern Asia and south through Alaska, central Canada, and the Great Plains. The migration ends in northern Texas and northern Mexico. These data were used as a case study to highlight the

CEQUALW2 water-quality model and supporting LOADEST models for Lake St. Croix, Wisconsin and Minnesota, 2013

A mechanistic, biophysical water-quality model (CEQUALW2) was developed and calibrated for Lake St. Croix, Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Lake St. Croix CEQUALW2 model was simulated and calibrated using data collected from April through November 2013. Loads developed for the model were based on water-quality data collected by various agencies, including the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The calibra

Using colony monitoring devices to evaluate the impacts of land use and forage quality on honey bee health datasets

Honey bee colonies located in 2 apiaries in North Dakota were fitted with two types of monitoring device: pollen traps and scales. Data were collected from devices periodically throughout the 2014 season (May-October). Data derived from pollen traps included: the total fresh weight of pollen collected, the percent crude protein content, the percent content of each amino acid, and DNA identificat

Coastal Topography-Upper Florida Keys Reef Tract, Florida, 26-30 June 2016

Lidar-derived seamless (bare earth and submerged) topography Digital Elevation Model (DEM) mosaic and classified point-cloud datasets of a portion of the upper Florida Keys reef tract were produced from remotely sensed, geographically referenced elevation measurements collected June 26-30, 2016.

Shallow ATRIS (sATRIS) Images-Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida, 2009

Underwater digital images, single-beam bathymetry, and global positioning system (GPS) data were collected June 13?14, 2009 at Pulaski Shoal within Dry Tortugas National Park, FL, USA. A total of 195,406 images of the seafloor and water column were collected along pre-defined transect lines and organized into 3 sets: track1, track2, and track3. This data release contains a subset of those images (

Appendices for Transgressive-regressive cycles in the metalliferous, oil shale-bearing Heath Formation (Upper Mississippian), central Montana

This set of data files are the appendices for paper titled Transgressive-regressive cycles in the metalliferous, oil shale-bearing Heath Formation (Upper Mississippian), central Montana. The dataset consists of 8 appendices, including a histogram of solid bitumen and vitrinite Ro values, gas chromatograms, isotopic data, organic and inorganic geochemical analyses, and x-ray diffraction mineralogy

Sulfur isotope data for: Intermediate sulfidation type base metal mineralization at Aliabad-Khanchy, Tarom-Hashtjin metallogenic belt, NW Iran

These data represent sulfur isotope analyses of chalcopyrite from a base metal deposit in the Aliabad-Khanchy area in northwestern Iran. Rock samples were collected from outcrops, and chalcopyrite was separated for analysis by hand picking. The separates were analyzed for the ratio 34-S/32-S by elemental analyzer-isotope ratio monitoring mass spectrometry. Standardization was performed by analyzin
