Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) Collection 1.3 Annual Land Cover and Land Cover Change Validation Tables (1985–2021) for the Conterminous United States

A validation assessment of Land Cover Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection Collection 1.3 annual land cover products (1985–2021) for the Conterminous United States was conducted with an independently collected reference dataset. Reference data land cover attributes were assigned by trained interpreters for each year of the time series (1984–2021) to a reference sample of 26,971 Landsat resolutio

Water-Quality, Bed-Sediment, and Invertebrate Tissue Trace-Element Concentrations for the Clark Fork River and Tributaries in the Upper Clark Fork Basin, Montana, October 2020-September 2021

Water, bed sediment, and invertebrate tissue were sampled in streams from Butte to near Missoula, Montana (MT), as part of a long-term monitoring program within the Upper Clark Fork Basin. The sampling program was completed by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, to characterize aquatic resources in the Upper Clark Fork Basin and monitor trace e

Tracking Data for Bar-tailed Godwits (Limosa lapponica)

This metadata document describes the data contained in the "rawData" folder of this data package. This data package contains all data collected by the Argos System from 63 satellite transmitters attached to Bar-tailed Godwits on their breeding range in arctic and western Alaska, 2005-2010. Five data files are included in the "rawData" folder of this data package. Two data files (with identical con

Radiocarbon Data for Tree Ring Samples from Girdwood, Alaska

This dataset consists of sample details and radiocarbon age data of tree-ring samples collected near Girdwood, Alaska, and analyzed at the National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility.

Comparisons from an Aqualog Fluorometer Standardized to Quinine Sulfate Equivalents (QSE) with Excitation (ex) and Emissions (em) Equivalent to Fluorescence of Dissolved Organic Matter (fDOM) Sensors from Multiple Manufacturers

Here, we present the results supporting Table 2 in Field Techniques for Fluorescence Measurements Targeting Dissolved Organic Matter, Hydrocarbons, and Wastewater in Environmental Waters: Principles and Guidelines for Instrument Selection, Operation and Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Data Reporting. Table 2 shows comparisons from an Aqualog 800 benchtop fluorometer standardized to quinine sul

Molecular Detection and Characterization of Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza Viruses in Wild Birds Inhabiting Western Alaska Provides Evidence for Three Independent Viral Introductions

This data set describes three independent viral introductions of Highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza viruses into Alaska.

Geospatial Dataset of Water-Table and Potentiometric-Surface Altitudes in the Upper Glacial, Magothy, and Lloyd Aquifers of Long Island, New York, March–April 2006

This data release contains geospatial data defining estimates of the depth to water and water-table altitude in the upper glacial and Magothy Aquifers, the potentiometric surface of the confined Magothy and Jameco Aquifers, and the potentiometric surface of the Lloyd and North Shore Aquifers on Long Island, New York. Estimates are based on 502 water-level measurements made in wells across Long Isl

Data supporting the 2020 and 2021 geomorphic survey of North Fork Eagle Creek, New Mexico

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release contains results from the 2020 and 2021 geomorphic survey of North Fork Eagle Creek, New Mexico. Both geomorphic surveys were conducted by the USGS, in cooperation with the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and are the last set of surveys in a planned series of five annual geomorphic surveys of the stream reach located between the North Fork Eagle Cree

Water-quality profiles within the Caloosahatchee River and twelve fiberglass tanks, during experimental nutrient addition treatments, 2021

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides water-quality data collected during 1-week and 2-week nutrient studies beginning on February 22, May 17, and July 26 located in the Caloosahatchee River at the S-79 water-control structure. For each study period, 12 fiberglass tanks were suspended in the river using three floating cradles with each cradle holding four tanks. Each tank was op
