Prioritizing restoration of coastal wetlands on Molokaʻi

Hawaiian coastal wetlands provide important habitat for endangered waterbirds and socio-cultural resources for Native Hawaiians. Currently, they are degraded by development, sedimentation, and invasive species and, thus, require restoration. Site prioritization represents both an actionable plan for coastal wetland restoration and an alternative protocol for restoration decision-making.

Recreational Inland Fisheries as Food

Inland recreational fishing is often conceived as primarily a leisure-driven activity in freshwaters, yet it can contribute substantially to food systems. This tool explores nutrition, economic value, and climate vulnerability of inland recreational consumption by country.

U.S. Coastal Wetland Geospatial Datasets Collection and Coastal Wetlands Geonarrative

Scientists from across USGS have created the first CONUS-wide collection of key tidal wetland metrics. These metrics provide data on habitat quality, geomorphic vulnerability, and carbon stock that are necessary to understand the current and future ecosystem services provided by coastal wetlands.

Lake Class and Walleye Natural Resources Information

The goal of this tool is that users of the tool can use the information provided here to inform their decisions (or their advice to those with decision-making authority) about whether to Resist, Accept, or Direct in walleye fisheries in Wisconsin.

U.S. Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat)

CreelCat is a database and tool for inland fisheries management and research. State natural resource agencies endeavor to provide high-quality and sustainable fishing opportunities for anglers. Managers often use creel and other angler survey data to inform management efforts. CreelCat aims to provide managers and decision-makers with tools to aid the management of recreational fisheries

2022 Climate Adaptation Science Centers Annual Summary

In Fiscal Year 2022 (October 2021-September 2022), the National and Regional CASCs worked closely with partners to accomplish a multitude of science-based achievements!

Glacier Dashboard

The U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center collaborated with the Alaska Science Center and Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center to compile available datasets on glacier outlines, ice thickness, ice velocity, and glacier surface elevation change to assess the vulnerability of Alaskan glaciers. This data viewer reflects that effort.

Watershed-based Midwest Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Tool

Climate change has and is projected to continue to alter historic regimes of temperature, precipitation, and hydrology.

Climate Change and Freshwater Fish

Lakes in Wisconsin are getting warmer, and fish communities are changing as a result. Understanding recent trends and anticipating future changes can help decision-makers protect resilient populations, adapt to new conditions, and effectively communicate realistic expectations.
