Sea-floor Sediment Samples, Seabed Imagery, and CTD Instrument Data Collected on Stellwagen Bank in November, 2013, U.S. Geological Survey Field Activity 2013-044-FA

This field activity is part of the effort to map geologic substrates of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary region off Boston, Massachusetts. The overall goal is to develop high-resolution (1:25,000) interpretive maps, based on multibeam sonar data and seabed sampling, showing surficial geology and seabed sediment dynamics. This cruise was conducted in collaboration with the Stellwagen B

Location and analyses of sediment samples collected on Stellwagen Bank off Boston, Massachusetts from November 5, 2013 to April 30, 2019 on U.S. Geological Survey field activities

These data are part of the effort to map geologic substrates of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary (SBNMS) region off Boston, Massachusetts. The overall goal is to develop high-resolution (1:25,000) interpretive maps, based on multibeam sonar data and seabed sampling, showing surficial geology and seabed sediment dynamics. The data were collected in collaboration with the Stellwagen Ban

Suspended-sediment concentration data from water samples collected in 2016-17 in Grand Bay, Alabama and Mississippi

Suspended-sediment transport is a critical element governing the geomorphology of tidal marshes and estuaries. Marsh elevation, relative to sea level, is maintained by both organic material and the deposition of inorganic sediment. Additionally, horizontal marsh extent is altered by lateral erosion and accretion. In wetlands within and near Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, parts of t

Barrier island geomorphology and shorebird habitat metrics: 16 sites on the U.S. Atlantic Coast, 2013-2014

Understanding how sea-level rise will affect coastal landforms and the species and habitats they support is critical for crafting approaches that balance the needs of humans and native species. Given this increasing need to forecast sea-level rise effects on barrier islands in the near and long terms, we are developing Bayesian networks to evaluate and to forecast the cascading effects of sea-leve

Brook trout toxicity data from bioassays conducted in Western Adirondack Streams, 2001-03 and 2015-17

This dataset is composed of a single data table containing survival data and ancillary measurements for brook trout bioassays conducted in streams of the Western Adirondack Mountains during 2001-03 and 2015-17. At each stream site, 4 replicate bottles, each containing five young-of-year brook trout, are exposed to ambient stream waters for approximately one month during spring.

Benthic macroinvertebrates abundance data for the study of urbanization effects in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, (2006)

This database contains aquatic benthic macroinvertebrate abundance data derived from samples collected from 33 75-meter stream site locations within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area in September of 2006. The database contains two separate table files (i.e., entities) in csv format: 1) Macroinvertebrate site abundance data and 2) site location data. For macroinvertebrate data, six sa

Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio Soundings and Depth-to-Bedrock Data for Geohydrology and Water Quality Investigation of the Unconsolidated Aquifers in the Enfield Creek Valley, Town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York, April 2013 - August 2015

From April 2013 to August 2015, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Enfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, collected horizontal-to-vertical seismic soundings at 69 locations in the Enfield Creek valley to help determine thickness of the unconsolidated deposits and depth to bedrock. The HVSR technique, commonly referred to as the passive-seismic method, is u

Records of Selected Wells for Data Source for Geohydrology and Water Quality Investigation of the Unconsolidated Aquifer in the Enfield Creek Valley, Town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York, 2013-18

From 2013 to 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Town of Enfield and the Tompkins County Planning Department, collected and compiled well records (306 in total) within and outside the unconsolidated aquifers in the Town of Enfield, New York. Sources of well data included previous USGS groundwater studies, the USGS National Water Information System, and well records obtaine

Bathymetric and hydraulic structure survey of the Passumpsic River, Lyndon, Vermont and Kedron Brook, Woodstock, Vermont, 2019

This dataset is a bathymetric and hydraulic structure survey of the Passumpsic River and Kedron Brook. The dataset consists of stream channel cross-section data and structural data for bridges, culverts, and dams.

Sea-floor sediment samples, seabed imagery, and CTD data collected on Stellwagen Bank, in May 2017, U.S. Geological Survey Field Activity 2017-030-FA

Select Attributes for NHDPlus Version 2.1 Reach Catchments and Modified Network Routed Upstream Watersheds for the Conterminous United States (ver. 4.0, August 2023)

This metadata record describes a series of data sets of natural and anthropogenic landscape features linked to NHDPlus Version 2.1's (NHDPlusV2) approximately 2.7 million stream segments, their associated catchments, and their upstream watersheds within the conterminous United States. These data were developed by the Hydrologic Sytem's Team (HST) within the the United States Geological Survey's (
